The Texas Comedy Massacre 2 is a monthly comedy show held on the second Friday of the month at the Fox & Fiddle Wellesley. We are located on the third floor of the building so it’s best to bring a good set of climbing legs and, if need be, one of the show’s producers can act as a Sherpa. The show starts at 8:30pm and the admission is PWYC.
About The Bar
The Fox & Fiddle Wellesley is a modern English pub right inside Toronto’s Yonge & Wellesley neighbourhood. They’ve got a menu of traditional pub grub with a couple of more modern classics. The kitchen’s open until 2am so you’ve got ample time to grab one more order of Ancho Chipotle Chicken Wings!
Regardless of your mode of transport, it’s also really easy to get to – just east of Yonge on the south side of Wellesley. If arriving by TTC, take the Yonge-University subway line over to Wellesley Station and you’ll see it right across the street. Fine, I’ll even give you a map:
The Show's History
The Texas Comedy Massacre 2 began in May 2006 with a simple goal: revenge; revenge on all those who have wronged us. But, after lengthy discussions with many members of law enforcement, it was decided that a monthly comedy room would be a more prudent course of action. And we haven’t looked back since. Until now, I suppose.
We started out with three co-producers and a monthly Saturday show at the now defunct Fiddler’s Green Pub. And then there were two co-producers (don’t worry, it was an amicable split). And then Fiddler’s Green closed down and we became a comedy show without a home.
For a short period, the Artful Dodger Pub let us unleash our demented lunacy upon their patrons, as did O’Grady’s Bar & Grill but, like Goldilocks and the two bowls of porridge, neither was quite right.
That’s when the building formerly known as Fiddler’s Green re-opened better than it was before. Better. Stronger. Faster. And with a swanky new name – the Fox & Fiddle Wellesley. It just rolls off the tongue like velvet pancakes. And so, we returned, back to where it all began, and we’ve been here ever since.
Also we moved to Fridays. (You just can’t compete with UFC.)
